2 cups + 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, at room temperature
1 and 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup M&Ms cut up a little bit in the mixer (plus 1 cup for topping, optional)
Instructions
Make dough and refrigerate for 2 hours, do not skip this step or they will be a puddle, not a soft cookie. Bake at 350 for 10-11 minutes, immediately press more M & M’s into the top when they are pulled from the oven.
