Ingredients
This makes two loaves, to make one loaf cut in half.
3 cups flour
2 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Poppy Seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup of milk
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
Glaze:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange juice (if you don’t have this use water with lemon juice)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
Instructions
In a large bowl combine first 5 ingredients- then add eggs, oil, milk and extracts. Pour into TWO greased loaf pans.
Bake at 350 for 60-65 minutes. Cool completely in the pan. In a saucepan bring all glaze ingredients to a boil. Pour over bread in pans. Cool for 5 minutes and then remove from pans.
I leave mine in the pan to maintain the gooeyness of the bread.
