A delicious buttermilk key lime cake, topped with cheesecake laced lime frosting. The combination of these flavors make your tastebuds jiggle with excitement. And it is a easy cake to make, this is a single layer, but if you want to create a stack cake, double the recipe and use two cake pans.

 

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

1 large egg

3/4 cup of buttermilk

2 Tbsp of Lime Juice

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp vanilla

Topping:

Cheesecake Tub (See Link) with 1 tsp of lime juice mixed in.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In one bowl, combine everything for the cake. In a 9 or 10 inch round cake pan, grease so it does not stick.

Then add cake mix. Bake for 25-28. minutes.

Let cool.

Use about a half of tub of Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecake mixed with one tsp of lime juice. Spread over cooled cake.

Store in the refrigerator.
