These bars are simply amazing. This recipe is a very old family hand me down. If the card is hard to read and the handwriting is almost illegible in our house we know the recipe is going to be good.
The recipe is for a full pan of 13×9 inch pan, you can also halve the recipe if you have a smaller group. They are rich and a full glass of milk will be needed to wash it down.

Amazing Butter Pecan Turtle Bars! These are easy to prepare and are a very unique but delicious bar that everyone will want the recipe for.
Ingredients
Crust:
2 cups of flour
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup of butter, softened.
Caramel Layer
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup of whole pecans.
1 cup milk chocolate chips (not semi sweet)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium size bowl, combine crust ingredients. Particles will be fine, place in a UNGREASED 9x13x2 inch pan. Press firmly to create a solid crust.
Sprinkle pecans evenly over the crust.
Prepare the caramel layer. To do this in a saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the surface on the mixture begins to boi.. Boil for 30 seconds, then pour over prepared crust and pecans.
Bake in the center of the oven for 18-22 minutes util the crust is light brown. Remove from oven, immediately sprinkle with the chocolate chips.
Allow the chips to slightly melt for about 2-3 minutes. Slightly swirl the chips until they melt, leave some whole for a marbled effect. Do not spread them. Cool completely and then cut into bars.
Notes
This recipe can be cut in half just use a 8×8 pan and half the ingredients:)
